It also needs a protective net: something(s) have been nibbling it voraciously.

Things In My Garden

This is Spike.  Spike is an agave.  Spike likes to bite.  Elisheba wants to turn Spike into tequila.  Bite, Spike, bite!

Things In My Garden

A tenacious rose.  After we hacked down and dug up the prickly holly bush that was in this spot, this rose appeared and is enthusiastically putting out new leaves.  I can't wait to see what color it is!

Things In My Garden

My lime tree, rescued from a housemate who received it as an engagement gift but left it outside overnight in winter.  It likes being outdoors in summertime, though.  I am very lackadaisical about pruning, so it has grown very lopsided.  It made 5 limes this year.  Freshly picked limes smell wonderful!

Reach For the Sun

My lime tree is tenacious and resilient

and it loves the summer sun.
I was wondering about cutting it way back, but now I'll just trim the definitely dead branches and let it work on all its shiny new leaves as it pleases.
